Folding chairs and table

These chairs and side table were made for a customer who wanted some special chairs for their patio. They are not made to live outside, but quite happy to be used on a patio and taken in again.

It is a good example of the sort of bespoke project which I enjoy doing most.

There is some of my rocking chair knowledge used in making these chairs. The seat is carved in the same way as a rocking chair seat and the back rest is coopered as the headrest is coopered on a rocker.

The pivot bolts on the chairs are brass bolts which I commissioned specifically for this job.

Folding Table with three legs

The table had to have three legs so that it would sit on the patio which does not have an even surface.

Quite spectacular piece of quarter sawn brown oak for the top.
The top is laquered to give it more resistance to spills and cups.

The pivots for the folding chairs are custom turned brass bolts. A nice finishing touch!
